Hi, welcome to my website where you can find some information about me & my work.

I received my BA & MA in Cognitive and Biological Psychology from the Vrije Universiteit (Amsterdam, The Netherlands) and received my PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Amsterdam.
Following my PhD, I was awarded a NWO Rubicon Scholarship to complete a 2 year post-doc at Harvard Univerity, in Mahzarin Banaji’s Social Cognition Laboratory. Here my research focused on the influence that (unconscious) stereotypical knowledge has on low-level attentional processes, memory & language perception.
Returning to the University of Amsterdam (at the Department of Social Psychology) I worked with Kai Jonas. Our research project, funded by a fast-track grant from the NWO Conflict & Safety Spearhead, focused on the causes and consequences of humiliation, both at an individual and an intergroup context.
Currently, I work at the university of Sussex with Anil Seth at the Sackler Centre for Consciousness Science thanks to a Marie Skłodowska-Curie IEF Career Development Grant from the European Research Council. My research program explores how social predictions (based on, for example, prejudice) are integrated with cognitive processes to shape social cognition.
In my research, I use both behavioral and psychophysiological measures (EEG & ERP).
